Love this fabric line - pieced by Jo Ann

I love this quilt and the color combinations. Not sure who designed the fabric line and I guess that maybe tells you that I'm a child for the 50's/60's.  Bold prints and bright colors - awesome.  Great job Jo Ann.

Christmas you say?

Yes believe it or not us long arm quilters are already working on some Christmas quilts.  My regular customers already know the sooner you get them into me, the better.  Susan L is very considerate and leaves me plenty of time to get her quilts quilted.  This is a lovely scrappy Christmas quilt she made trying to use up some of her Christmas scraps.

Butternut & Blue (Barbara Brackman) by Lisa K

This beautifully pieced civil war quilt was made by Lisa K.  The design and pattern is by Barbara Brackman called "Butternut & Blue".

The quilting on this beauty is what I consider lite custom quilting consisting of feathery ferns in the borders, specific designs in the sashings and some freehand feather swirls in the center of the quilt.  My lite custom does not include any stitching in the ditch.  This is a great alternative to my full blown custom quilting and the cost would be approx. 30% less.

Cool Place mats by Jane

A previous customer of mine Doreen (I say previous because she now has her own longarm) came up with this idea and I think it's awesome.  You go ahead and choose your fabrics that you want to make  into some simple place mats, sew all your strips together into one piece.  I then quilt the whole thing as if it was one quilt.  You then will cut them apart, put the binding on, and you have your Christmas gifts all done.  Cool ehe?

These are two sets that Jane made up and I quilted.  Jane is having her knee operation today and will have lots of time to get the binding on these lovely gifts.

Quick Strippie by Lori and Michelle

I know you all laugh at me when I say "I have the best customers in the world".  Here is a prime example of what I mean.

Many of you know that I work with Victoria Quilts in making quilts for people that are battling cancer.  And also many of you know that I try to always have kits here in the studio in case I hear someone say they don't have a project to work on.

Lori, a wonderful young and fairly new quilter was so excited to take one of these kits after hearing  about the cause and all the wonderful people volunteering to successfully provide awesome quilts to try and brighten up someone's day.

Lori and a friend Michelle worked on this lovely quilt - didn't it turn out beautiful?  Thank you, thank you, thank you, you lovely ladies.

Jelly Stone Park pieced by Tanya

Tanya is a lovely young women whom I have watched mature in her quilting over the past few years.  Although Tanya was a good quilter from the start her self confidence took a little while to catch up to her abilities. Beautiful job as usual my dear, keep up the awesome work, can't wait to see the next one.

This quilt is called Jelly Stone Park by Legacy Patterns.

Sooo Cute Baby Panel Quilt by Stephanie

The panel quilts are such awesome fast and easy baby gifts.  Stephanie did a great job piecing this Winnie the Pooh design, complimenting the panel with brightly colored shashings and borders.  She also  added to the coziness by using an adorable Winnie the Pooh fleece for the backing.

Freehand bubble quilting design - 100% cotton variegated thread - Tutti by Wonderfil and a cotton/poly blend batting.

Beauitful hand appliqued basket quilt by Pat

Pat brought in this wonderful hand appliqued quilt she had spent many many hours working on.  She had decided that because of the time spent putting it together she wanted to have it custom quilted. As I've mentioned before, whenever I receive a quilt like this to work on I first, am very honored and secondly a bit nervous.

Pat left the choice of design entirely up to me.  Being that I would classify this a very traditional quilt, feathers were in order.

The quilting is free form hand guided custom quilting using Invisifil thread by Wonderfil.

Chopsticks - Pieced by Kim

Here is another beauty pieced by Kim.  Great choice of fabrics Kim - awesome job.

I've quilted this pattern a few times now and am bound and determined I will someday make this quilt.  In case any of you reading my blog feel the same I've attached the link to Jaybird Quilts who designed the pattern and where it would be available.
