Photo Quilt by Mary

Mary brought me this lovely photo quilt she made commemorating her heritage and family.  My understanding is that this quilt will be given to a very special niece.  What a wonderful gift - great job Mary.

The quilting is a perfect example of what can be done when custom quilting is not in the budget.  I carefully quilted around the faces but did quilt on the photo backgrounds to give the quilt the stability it needed.  I used a light silver polyester thread to blend rather than accent.

Paris Days pieced by Linda

This lovely elegant quilt was made by new customer Linda for her son who will be going away to Europe - I would assume Paris will be one of his many stops. What a wonderful gift Linda, your son will be ecstatic!

The quilting is freehand double swirl design, Mirage variegated polyester thread by Wonderfil and the Dream Puff batting added a real nice texture.

Nothing like a soft cozy baby quilt!

Friend JoAnn is expecting her first grandchild and she's busy busy making baby quilts.  I think the panels that they have now are absolutely perfect for a fast baby quilt that will be washed over and over again. Isn't is adorable?

Freehand heart quilting using 100% cotton variegated thread - Tutti by Wonderfil.

Christmas Quilt by Glenna J

This gorgeous Christmas quilt was made by customer Glenna J for her daughter.  Glenna spent many hours piecing this beauty and wanted to finish it off with custom quilting.

The quilting is full custom with many hours of ruler work in the sashings and curved cross hatching in all of the set in blocks and in the borders between the appliqued reindeer. I also tried to quilt a variety of designs in each block as it definitely is a sampler quilt.  I used a gold rayon/polyester thread and wool batting to enhance the definition of the quilting.

"Caution - Curves Ahead" by Lisa K

I love everything about this quilt including the name "Caution, Curves Ahead".   Lisa mentioned it was a free monthly block demo by a local quilt shop - Traditional Pass Times.  Awesome job with the color choices and combinations Lisa..  Although she mentioned the top was make a few years ago it definitely fits into the new modern quilt category.  Sure hope to see this one and many of your others in the Heritage Park Quilt Festival in May Lisa.

Great job Lisa - I can't imagine working with all those curves!

I did a freehand spiral type quilting design.  Lisa chose a blue to yellow variegated cotton thread - Tutti by Wonderfil, and we used Hobbs 80/20 batting.

Another Beauty from Rose

Hats off to Rose - this is the second Hunter Star quilt she made in less than a year if I remember correctly.  Although I often say I'd like to make this quilt or that quilt again, I must admit that I rarely have made the same quilt twice.  Awesome job Rose - it is absolutely gorgeous!

Freehand quilting with a bit of light custom quilting in the stars.  Wonderfil Quiltmaster thread and Hobbs 80/20 batting.
