Wonderful Christmas Quilts Coming In

I think on numerous occasions I've mentioned my lovely customer Susan who does the most wonderful quilting.  Susan was organized as usual and brought her Christmas quilts in extra early in order to ensure I could get them done up for her.  I do so appreciate my thoughtful customers  thinking ahead and giving me as much quilting time as they can.

Please enjoy this little trunk show of quilts made by Susan.  The quilting is all freehand, mostly swirls with the odd holly leaf and snow flake thrown in. Susan is also the lady who compiles the most awesome backings for her quilts - making them definitely one of a kind pieces of art.

First Time Quilter - Elayna

Can you believe that this quilt was made by a first time quilter -  Elayna?  She did an amazing job with a bit of help from her sister Alexandra.  Love love love to see these young quilters taking up the art - both Elayna and her sister are young women and both fairly new to quilting.  Great job ladies!

This beauty is bound for Australia just as soon as Elayna gets the binding put on.  Hopefully she will remember to put a label on it for everyone to know, who, where and when this quilt was made.  I do recall Elayna saying this will be a gift for a special someone just entering into our world.

The quilting was my freehand soft swirls using a lovely variegated thread - Mirage by Wonderfil and Hobbs 80/20 batting.

Betty's Quilt

This is a lovely quilt made by Betty from Innisfail.  Betty and I have never met as her daughter brings her quilts in to me, but hopefully one of these days we'll get together for a visit.

Betty made this quilt for a nephew as a gift - not sure if it's for a special occasion or not.

This is a large queen size quilt and I used a double layer of Hobbs 80/20 for a bit more weight and I definitely got a lot more definition with the quilting.  The quilting is freehand swirls using a variegated thread (white to grey to black - Mirage by Wonderfil).

Woooooo! Happy Halloween

I sure wish I was as organized as Susan.  Susan has this quilt all bound and ready to decorate her house for upcoming Halloween .  This adorable novelty quilt was quilted freehand with a swirl and star design and a smile on my face - those cute smiling pumpkins.  Isn't the backing perfect and the cutes choice for this quilt?  As usual you've done a great job Susan.

Fun Quilts by Elizabeth

Elizabeth was using up fabric and made two of the loveliest quilts. The polka dot fabric is always such a great choice and adds to the white background, sashings and borders.  Elizabeth did an awesome job putting these fabrics together.  These definitely are "Happy Quilts" Elizabeth!

She asked for my bubbles freehand quilting for both quilts using a colorful fun thread.  We used Hobbs 80/20 batting and the thread for the one was Silco by Wonderfil and the second was Mirage by Wonderfil and they were both variegated multi colored.

Karen's Wedding Quilt

Karen did a wonderful job on this lovely quilt made for her son's wedding. Since it is a September wedding the colors and choice of fabrics are absolutely perfect. Love that sunflower fabric.

Believe it or not this is one of the very first quilts Karen has ever made although she did admit to me that maybe she is hooked on this quilting thing.  Hopefully she'll send some photos of the bride and groom with this lovely quilt.  Lucky couple to receive such a "from the heart" gift.

A freehand leafy swirl design was used as well as 100% cotton thread (Tutti by Wonderfil).
