Chalkboard Christmas - pieced by Julie

Julie brought me four of these lovely quilts that will be given as Christmas gifts. I have now finished the quilting on two of them with two more to go.  The fabric combinations are wonderful and I am positive that the people receiving these for Christmas are going to be sooo very pleased. Julie you have a huge huge heart!

Jackie is having fun again!

Jackie loves to make these adorable children's quilts - I have a sneaky suspicion this just may be another soft and cozy quilt for one of her adorable grandchildren - maybe?

Freehand quilting using Tutti variegated thread by Wonderfil and Hobbs 80/20 batting.  Jackie used a soft and cozy minkie type fabric for the back - it is just sooo sweet.

Sooo Sweet Baby Quilt by Susan

Isn't this a lovely soft colored baby quilt.  I must admit, I love the baby quilts that are coming through the studio.  Some traditional patterns with modern fabrics and some just modern patterns and current modern fabrics.  The lines of fabrics are amazing and hats off to the designers - you're all doing such a wonderful job coordinating fabrics and making it much easier for the quilt piecers that struggle with putting fabrics together.

I might add, Susan does not struggle with anything - her choices of fabrics and her piecing is always impeccable. Susan mentioned this is a pattern called "Sunny Trails" from Moda Bake Shop.

Freehand quilting - heart design. The thread used was a cream color cotton, Konfetti by Wonderfil.

Can't go wrong will blue and yellow - by Helen

Helen made this adorable little baby quilt for a special little someone.  The colors and fabric choices are so charming (you definitely can't go wrong with blue and yellow), I'm sure this little beauty will be cherished for a long long time. Nice work Helen and hope to see more of your lovely creations.

The quilting is freehand stars and swirls, Tutti variegated thread and Hobbs 80/20 batting.

Great Friends Always Coming Forward

This quilt is a wonderful example of my great friends always willing to help.  Most of my close friends know I work with Victoria Quilts in preparing quilts that are gifted to anyone facing the challenge of a battle with cancer.

I always try to keep a number of kits here in the studio for anyone willing to piece a top for this very worthwhile organization.  The fabric is all there and all that needs to be done is the piecing of the top.  You don't have to supply anything but your time, thread, love and prayers.

My friend Max is always willing to take a kit home and sews it up in record time.  This is a great example of a fairly simple quilt design that just turned out beautiful.  Thank you Max for your great work - it really is appreciated.

Capes & Crusaders - by Doris

This adorable quilt was made by friend Doris for a wonderful cause.  Doris's friend Marnie and her friend each year do a charity fund raiser for an organization "Humanity in Practice".  The venue is October 30th at the Willowpark Golf and Country Club - below is a link to all the information.

Doris made this quilt to be auctions off at this fund raiser and I'm sure the outcome will be very very positive.

The quilting is freehand (spiky swirl quilting design), Tutti thread by Wonderfil and Hobbs 80/20 batting.

Halloween Quilt by Susan L

What a hoot quilting this adorable Halloween Hexie quilt Susan made.  I forgot to ask her if she knew how many different fabrics she actually used in this quilt but I know there were many, and oh sooooo cute.  Also have a look at the back, Susan almost always does something so fun on the back of her quilts and this one is definitely no exception.  I'm still smiling Susan!

The quilting is a freehand hook swirl design using solid black thread.
