This lovely quilt was made by my dear friend Jane. Jane did not have anyone in mind when she started this quilt but it wasn't long before she received some troubling news that a member of her family had just started a battle with cancer. This quilt will be sent off as a comfort quilt to Jane's sister-in-law. I'm sure she will feel the love in this quilt and know that there are many people sending her their prayers and best wishes.

Perfect for Mother's Day - Glenna's Quilt for Her Mom
This lovely quilt is a customer quilt made for Glenna's mother. Mom chose the fabrics and Glenna put them all together - how wonderful! When I saw this quilt it made me think of my Mom who passed away in 2006. Mom would have lovely this quilt, as she love love loved flowers of all sorts.
Glenna asked for the center to be outlined and a stipple design to surround the floral vase, the rest of the quilt was freehand leaf/swirl meandering. I used an extra layer of batting to define the vase making somewhat a trupunto look. Legacy 70/30 Eco batting was used, as well as a variegated thread - Mirage by Wonderfil.

Pineapple from Mexico
This quilt has a cute story to it. My friend Elizabeth received some fabric which her daughter brought back for her from a visit to Mexico a while back. I recall Elizabeth agonizing over this fabric and what to make from it, as it was very bright and not really her so called "cup of tea". Anyway, while picking up another quilt from my studio Elizabeth noticed a scrappy pineapple quilt I was working on and showed an interest. I lent her my book and this is the wonderful quilt she came up with. I think it's absolutely lovely and considering Elizabeth hasn't been quilting that long, she did a great great job piecing it.
This is an overall freehand design, using Hobbs 80/20 batting and a veriegated 100% cotton thread (Tutti) by Wonderfil.
