Joanna lives and works in Fort Mac. She is new to quilting and with the help of her girlfriend Jennifer made this awesome nine patch quilt. Great job Joanna - keep up the good work, you're a natural!
Unfortunately Joanne won't get to see this beauty in person until sometimes in the new year when she comes back to Calgary to see her family. No worry Joanna the quilts love to hang out here in the studio with me until they're ready to go home.
The quilting is freehand soft swirls, Hobbs 80/20 batting and variegated 100% Egyptian cotton thread (Tutti) by Wonderfil.

Oh I just love it Nancy! It looks absolutely fabulous on the photos...I can't imagine what it looks like in real life! Thank god for Kijiji!
ReplyDeleteWow, I am so impressed and overwhelmed with pride and joy with the finished quilt you have made. Beautiful! You have the in-born talent for being artistic and like what Nancy had mentioned, it came natural.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jennifer for being a good teacher to Joanna and thank you to Nancy as well for displaying Joanna's quilt in the studio until such time when it is ready for pick-up.
Thank you so much "Anonymous"! Your words really mean a lot. I cannot wait to start another quilt and embark on a lifetime of this wonderful hobby.
ReplyDeleteI do owe it all to my SUPER, AMAZING friend Jennifer. Not only did she introduce me to a great hobby, but for all the wonderful times we spent geting together to sew.
Dear Nancy,
DeleteThank you so much for displaying Joanna's quilt. It is just beautiful and the quilting is fabulous. AS I look at it, tears just roll down my cheeks. You see Joanna is my niece. As you said she is a natural. She gets it from my Mom, her grandma who used to have a School of Fashion back in the Philippines. I am a quilter myself and I do appreciate every stitch and effort put into a quilt. When we visit Calgary, I would love to see you shop. Thanks a million again.
Frida
I could stare at this quilt all day long. Absolutely stunning considering it is your first quilt!
