Girlfriend Suzanne made this awesome modern looking Irish Chain quilt for a daughter of a friend.  Love the Laurel Burch fabric Suzanne chose adding to the modern feel.  Perfect for a young lady who obviously loves horses.  Great job Suzanne and what a wonderful gift.

Tumbler Quilt by Lori

I had so much fun when I quilted this lovely quilt pieced by Lori.  The fabrics are so adorable - I'm not sure if they are all from the same line and who's line it is - but they are sooooo cute.

Lori did an awesome job putting this quilt together and it's wonderful to see young people enjoying the process of quilting as well as the fun fabrics out there.    Keep up the good work Lori and thanks for working on a Victoria Quilt kit for us - can't wait to see it.

Adorable Kite Quilt by Catherine

Catherine brought in this lovely quilt she made for a coworker's new addition - looking at it now I guess the new addition came last summer.  She also mentioned this was her first time doing applique - can you believe it?  Didn't she do an amazing job and isn't this the cutest quilt ever?

2 More Lovelies by Mary

First time customer Mary brought me 5 quilts on her first visit in January.  I've posted a few photos previously and these are the last 2 I just finished up today. It appears that Mary may have had these quilts for a while just waiting to be quilted.

Mary is a lovely senior who is really enjoying quilting in her later year and doing a great job.  I think she mentioned some of these are for grandchildren. I really hope Mary likes what I've done as she gave me free reign to do whatever I wished.

Freehand quilting on both.  The first is freehand petal flower design and the second is freehand soft floral design.

Feather Bed Quilt pieced by Julie

This is a great quilt pattern called "Feather Bed Quilt" by Anna Marie Horner.  Julie did a wonderful job piecing this beauty, although she did mention that at times it was a bit of a challenge.  Julie made this quilt for her daughter who is in university down south.  Julie is the only customer of mine that loves the large stipple quilting design on her quilts and although every once and a while I can talk her into something else she usually reverts back to the large stipple.

I used a 100% cotton variegated thread Tutti by Wonderfil and Julie agreed on the Dream Puff batting.  I love the texture the batting gives to this quilt - she did too.

Very Hungry Caterpillar by Sheila

Sheila R brought in this adorable Very Hungry Caterpillar panel quilt.  How adorable is this and didn't it turn out awesome!

Sheila saw another one on my blog that my friend Doris had made for her grandson and went hunting.  Well Sheila good for you - you found it and did a great job putting it together.

Freehand bubble quilting design - adding the odd butterfly here and there.  The tread is a gorgeous multi colored polyester - Mirage by Wonderfil.

T-Shirt Quilt - Another Joint Effort with Girlfriend Max

As some of you know, my girlfriend Max and I occasionally take on the task of making a commission quilt from scratch and this is our latest endeavor.  Max did the piecing of the blocks and borders after I did some preliminary fusing and rough cutting.   The piecing on this beauty was no small task as it ended up being a honkin 85"x 112" in size.   I  must admit though, I was fairly confident that the young man who will receive this quilt is tall as the shirts are all from his competition basketball days in junior high and high school.   After Max did her great work on the top,  I then pieced the leftovers into the back, quilted it and finished it off with hand sewn binding.

The customer chose the fabric and I love the definite masculine feel of this quilt. The quilting is freehand double swirls using a silver polyester thread by Madiera and the batting was Dream Puff.

I just have to share - Carrie picked up this quilt for her son Thursday and was over the moon.  Yeah!!!! Another happy customer - just the way we like it - right Max?
